CSA Sports - A Pledge to our Loyal Clients, Old and
New
|
For 12 years, CSA Sports has continued to provide a premium
service to all our clients. Every aspect of league play is covered by our
comprehensive operational plan and every conceivable scenario has been fully
examined. We do this so that we can be concerned about your safety and the
safety of your teammates and opponents. We do this so that you only have to
worry about playing and having a good time. Yet every season we come across
events that surprise us.
As the cost for field use continues to rise in an
accelerated fashion, CSA Sports has adjusted our pricing model to deal with the
higher fees while still offering our loyal client base a fair and competitive
price. We are somewhat restricted in the price range, but we are not restricted in the
level of service we can provide.
It’s the small things that make all the difference. CSA
Sports remains loyal to the teams and individuals that have been loyal to us and
made our product the brand name it is today. The only way we know how to repay
that loyalty is to continuously improve and innovate our brand so that everyone
is getting the best possible product. So that those loyal customers know that we
care about them and that they are satisfied.
The foundation of the CSA Sports program is our innovative
Co-ed Softball program. Many of the recent changes and revisions have been
within this program, but CSA maintains the same type of commitment to every
league and event we promote. Some of this is well known, some is not so obvious,
but we want everyone to know that we are always thinking about ways to make your
experience with CSA even better.
COPYRIGHTED SPECIALTY RULES/SAFETY RULES
CSA Sports operates our co-ed softball leagues under a set of
copyrighted rules. These special rules are designed to create an atmosphere of
safety so all players can enjoy the game without worry. Prior to the start of
every season, a senior CSA Sports official reviews all these rules with each
team to ensure that they understand not only the literal rule, but also the
intent of those rules.
CONTINUOUS RULES REVIEW
To maintain competitive balance and to keep our product fresh and
innovative, we are always reviewing our rules of play. In addition to that, each
year a panel of senior officials conducts a comprehensive review of all our
special rules. After a year of review and analysis, we have made bold changes to
the Co-ed Softball rules for the upcoming season. Twice a year we do an extensive
review of bats to determine which models should not be allowed and which should
be re-instated. A constant analysis of safety regulations allows CSA Sports to
implement the appropriate rules and interpretations.
SENIOR OFFICIAL ALWAYS ON SITE
Our umpires are experienced officials with hundreds of games called. But that
doesn’t preclude situations from arising that an umpire hasn’t dealt with
before. Because of that possibility, CSA always has a senior official on site,
regardless of whether one game is scheduled or ten games are being played. CSA
Sports always has a representative available that can assist teams, players, and
officials with any issue they might have.
INTERACTIVE SCHEDULING
A pre-designed computer program doesn’t churn out CSA’s schedules. To deal with
all the variables possible, each teams schedule is reviewed and revised based on
situations and requests. This interactive approach to scheduling allows CSA to
eliminate conflicts well before the season begins. It also allows our schedule
makers to have greater flexibility in re-scheduling cancelled games and making
the most competitive match-ups.
COMPREHENSIVE STATS
CSA Sports was the innovator and is still the only organization that
maintains records of all our games and makes them available to the players. We
have always felt that we are not simply hosting games. CSA Sports is operating
an event, and when teams and individuals accomplish something special, it is our
responsibility to note that. The final result of every game ever played (over
11,000) in every sport we have ever hosted, is archived in our database and
available online. 11 years of archived results is just one click away.
DAILY WEBSITE UPDATES
After every game day the CSA Sports website is updated to reflect the game
results, up to the minute standings, and any scheduling changes. Team pages
include specialized statistical analysis and access to each franchises entire
history. CSA Sports is the only organization that maintains detailed records for
each team and participation records for each individual. For example,
we can
tell you the number of times that every individual player has batted
during the 2011 spring season in the Co-ed Softball division.
TEAM PAGES
Every player on every team is a client of CSA Sports and that is important. We
understand that some people just ask what time the game is and show up to play.
We also understand that many players want to know what the team has done in the
past, who they play in the upcoming games and how they have done in the past,
and how does my team compare to other teams. For these people we have maintained
the Team Page section for every league. A streamlined schedule is available as
well as access to your team statistics and historical data. Every team, in every
league, for every season played has a team page dedicated to just them.
QUALITY EQUIPMENT/ FIELD MAINTENANCE
CSA Sports utilizes the Dudley Thunder SW-12 softball (white) and the
Dudley Thunder SY-12 (yellow) softballs. They cost more than a cheap ball you
could pick up at any sporting goods store, but the difference is the quality and
after several years of analysis, that quality is quantifiable. CSA Sports puts a
fresh softball in at the start of every game.
CSA Sports is foremost dedicated to safety and that is our
main focus. Most fields we use provide bases, but they do not provide safety
bases. Every softball game played by CSA Sports is played with the double first
base (orange/white safety base). We install the base before each game and have
purchased additional safety bases to guarantee that we can maintain our
commitment. Both Piedmont Park and Frankie Allen park do not provide these
bases.
While CSA is very limited in the maintenance work we can
perform on public facilities, we have instituted a protocol that will allow us
eliminate hazards entirely and if that is not possible, find a creative solution
to avoid them. Before every game the senior on site officials “walks the field”
and checks for possible problems. When those are identified, CSA takes an active
approach to correcting them. We keep our maintenance equipment available and
particularly for a facility such as Piedmont Park, where the ball fields are not
diligently maintained, we can work on things like holes in the field before
games start.
In addition to checking the field for hazards, CSA always
has the field lined off, and not simply putting down a baseline or coaches box.
CSA has established a universal policy for field preparation. This is to assure
the participants that if they are playing in a CSA Sports league, the field will
always be prepared the same. An “on-deck” box is always painted, the out of play
area is always defined, the obstruction/interference lines are marked, the
coaches boxes are clear, the outfield arc is fresh and visible (and if it is
not, we use cones to mark the line), and of course the foul lines are painted as
well. Field Diagram
DEDICATED GAME STATUS HOTLINE
We do not rely on an outside person to determine if games will be
canceled. In cases of inclement weather CSA always has an official review the
game site and provide continuous updates on game status.
After 12 years the intentions sometimes get lost, the product
can get stale. CSA Sports is taking this opportunity to tell former clients,
current participants, and future customers that we will always maintain our
pledge to provide the best possible service and we will never compromise our
product for any reason.
We thank all of our loyal clients, past, present, and
future, for their contribution to the CSA Sports program.
On behalf of CSA Sports,
Leland Dombrowsky
Executive Director
