Wide Right successfully defended their CSA Flag Football championship by crushing the Renegades in CSA Flag Bowl III. Wide Right has run their winning streak to 18 games, a CSA record. They also are the first team in CSA history to repeat as league champions.

In the semi-finals, Wide Right played a dominating second half to cruise past LAS-TVS with a 21-6 victory. Wide Right was led by two touchdown catches by Todd Van Leuven, including a 45 yard score and a spectacular catch in the back of the endzone on a 16 yard pass.

Entering the game coming off their 10th straight win this season, Wide Right struck early and used a stifling defense to get the second seeded Renegades off their game.

Wide Right opened the game with the ball at their own 22. After two quick plays that gained 10 yards, Championship Game MVP, QB Killebrew Bailey, hit Wes Clark for a 48 yard touchdown to put Wide Right on the board 1:50 into the game. Bailey hit Mark Mclaughlin for a one point conversion and Wide Right was quickly up 7-0.
The Renegades took the ball at their own 15 and started to move, they converted a fourth and one from their own 39 to keep the drive going, but on the next play, Wide Right captain Erik Ciccarone intercepted a pass up the middle and Wide Right had the ball back.
WR took over at their own 35. After a second down run by Bailey that gained 13 yards, WR was unable to gain another first, they turned the ball over on downs at the Renegade 26 yard line.
The Renegades had the ball back and six minutes left in the half. After getting a first down, WR got their second interception, Bailey dove and caught a tipped pass at the Wide Right 19 yard line.
With the ball back, WR moved the ball out to their own 35 yard line, and decided to punt on 4th and five. The punt pinned the Renegades back to their own 4 yard line and with only 26 seconds left, the half uneventfully ran out.

The second half saw the Renegades continue to struggle on offense, and Wide Right take advantage of big plays and field position. In the second half, WR started all three drives inside the Renegade 20 yard line.

The Renegades took the second half kickoff and started at their own 13 yard line. After getting the initial first down, the drive stalled at their own 29 and they punted on 4th and 11. A 39 yard punt had apparently moved Wide Right back, but Bailey was able to field the kick at his own 18 yard line and returned it 47 yards to the Renegade 15.
Already in the red zone, it took only two plays for Bailey to find Ciccarone for a 10 yard touchdown pass. The conversion failed, but Wide Right had moved out to a commanding 13-0 lead.

Starting deep in their own territory, the Renegades had a "must score" drive coming up. They took the ball with 11:30 left in the game. After an eight yard sack by Todd Van Leuven drove the Renegades back to their own 8, they were forced to go for it on 4th and long and were unable to convert.
With the ball on the Renegade 8 yard line, Wide Right quickly sealed the game. After a two yard loss on first down, Bailey connected with Gary Bossert for another 10 yard touchdown pass. When Bailey and Mclaughlin connected on another conversion, the score was 20-0 and the championship was in the bag.

The only issue that was still in doubt was whether Wide Right would end the perfect season with a shutout. Their was five minutes left on the clock and on the first play by the Renegades, Brantley Edwards made an acrobatic play for Wide Right's third interception of the game. Wide Right took over on the Renegade 20 yard line and looked to put more points on the board. Going for too much, the Renegades intercepted the second play and took over for one last drive at their own four yard line.

With the outcome no longer an issue, the Renegades were able to start moving the ball while the clock ticked away. They took over with 2:15 remaining and were able to go 76 yards in 1:40. Renegade QB JP Hughes connected with Derrell Walker on a 22 yard catch and run for a Renegade touchdown. On the two point attempt, Hughes hit Gerald Williams. The TD and conversion made the score 20-8, but with no timeouts left for the Renegades, Wide Right simply kneeled on the ball and ran out the clock.

Wide Right had completed only the second perfect season in CSA history, and the first in 2001. The semi-final and final sweep gave Wide Right an 11-0 record and an 18 game winning streak.
