GAME'S CANCELLED (8-0) vs
IN EVERY ORPHUS
(8-0)
The two dominant teams of 2006 will face off to determine
the first league champion of 2007. In Every Orphus enters the LCS on a record
run, with a 36 game winning streak. They have just completed their seventh
consecutive undefeated regular season and finished the season ranked #1 in the
Destiny Poll.
Game's Cancelled has been equally dominating, finishing their first perfect regular season in the Thursday night league at Aviation Park. It was the fourth regular season division title for GC.
During 2006, the teams met twice, both in major championships. Game's Cancelled rallied to defeat In Every Orphus in the "Destiny" semi-finals and went on to win the championship the next day. In Every Orphus avenged their only defeat of 2006 (and the only loss in their last 47 games) with a win in the "Grand Finale" finals. A back and forth game, Orphus held on to a one run lead in the seventh inning for their second consecutive major championship.

Matchup Analysis
PITCHING
A strength of both teams, each team has a pitcher that has earned
All-Tournament team honors during 2006, and Game's Cancelled pitcher has been a
league MVP. Neither team has had to rely of backup pitching. Larry Smith has
started nearly every game for Orphus during the winning streak. Wade Pearson had
his second unbeaten Spring season (he was 11-0 in Spring 06, 7-0 in Spring 07).
Slight Edge - Game's Cancelled
OFFENSE
Game's Cancelled doesn't have a problem generating runs, but their offense
has been slowed down at times and is vulnerable against a top tier defense and
pitcher. In Every Orphus is unstoppable. Even against some of the best pitchers
in CSA they score 15 runs a game. No team has been able to hold them down, or
even slow them down, for a complete game. Orphus has scored 10 or more runs in
30 consecutive games.
Edge - In Every Orphus
DEFENSE
The two best defenses in CSA are the reason they are very difficult to beat.
Game's Cancelled has great team speed and solid gloves all around. Orphus has no
holes. They have a player that was selected All-Tournament first team at every
fielding position, including the 2006 CSA Player of the Year, Shawna Norton, who
has been an All-Tourney selection at both first and second base.
Edge - In Every Orphus
INTANGIBLES
A team does not win 55 consecutive regular season games and 36 in a row
overall without having the intangibles. Since the loss to Game's Cancelled
during Destiny, no team has entered the seventh inning with a lead against In
Every Orphus and only one team has taken a lead into the sixth inning against
them (2006 Throne finals, The Channel 4 News Team).
Game's Cancelled has one significant edge that no other team has, they are the
team that defeated Orphus in 2006
Edge - In Every Orphus
OVERALL
In Every Orphus is 56-2 in their last 58 games and the two losses were to
eventual tournament champions. Now one team is asked to defeat them twice in
three games. Game's Cancelled has a monumental task ahead of them.
