The Five-Star Challenge

Schedule & Description of events

 

All events are held at Aviation Park


Dodgeball
Full roster dodgeball
One game. The winning teams meet in the finals. The losing teams meet in a consolation game
Playground rules apply. Players are eliminated by either being hit with a thrown ball between their shoulder and knee, or having one of their throws caught by the opposition. The first team to have all their players eliminated loses. Their is a 10 minute time limit. After ten minutes, the team with the most players still in, wins.

Five-Star scoring
Teams receive points based on the following:
1st place- 5 points
2nd place- 3 points
3rd place- 2 points
4th place- 0 points

 

Kickball
The games are played under CSA kickball rules. Teams will have 11 kickers (6 men/5 women). Teams will field 10 players (5 men/5 women). Games last five innings. CSA kickball rules apply, except where specifically changed

Five-Star scoring
Teams receive points based on the following:
Win- 5 points
Loss - 0 points
Bonus points - Teams receive bonus points for runs scored. For every two runs scored, teams receive one bonus point.

Example: Gold defeats Blue 12-4. Gold receives 11 points, Blue receives 2 points.

Flag Football
The games are played under CSA co-ed flag football tournament rules.

 Five-Star scoring
Teams receive points based on the following:
Win- 5 points
Loss - 0 points
Bonus points - Teams receive bonus points for points scored. For every six points scored, teams receive one bonus point.

 

Softball
Teams will have 11 batters with a minimum of four women. Teams field 10 players. General rules apply except where specifically changed. If a team has a lead of 20 runs the game is halted regardless of who the home team is.
The games are played under CSA softball rules.

Teams receive points based on the following:
Win- 5 points
Loss - 0 points
Bonus points - Teams receive bonus points for points scored. For every three runs scored, teams receive one bonus point.

 

2:00PM - Track & Field

 Hand-off Relay
6 runners per team (3 guys/3 girls). The first runner starts at Line A and runs 30 yards to Line B where they hand off to runner #2, who runs 30 yards in the opposite direction and hands off to runner #3. This continues until all 10 runners have gone.

Teams receive points based on the following:
1st place- 5 points
2nd place- 3 points
3rd place- 2 points
4th place- 0 points

 

Tug-O-War
Seven people per team. Six girls and one guy.
Teams compete in one semi-final pull. The two winning teams face each other in a final pull. The two losing teams face each other for third place.

Teams receive points based on the following:
1st place- 5 points
2nd place- 3 points
3rd place- 2 points
4th place- 0 points

Men's and Women's Division

All players are eligible to compete. The top four distances are awarded points.
Top four distances are awarded points.

1st place- 4 points
2nd place- 3 points
3rd place- 2 points
4th place- 1 points

Teams receive points based on the following:

40 Yard Dash

Men's and Women's Division
Two players from each team compete (1 guy/1 girl)

"The Race"
"The Race" is a four person relay race circling Aviation Park, Field #1.
