THE NIGHTMARE HAS JUST BEGUN

After a disappointing finish in the winter season, Yo Mamma's Nightmare avenged their previous season finish by capturing the CSA Spring Men's Flag Football league championship.

In the winter season, Yo Mamma was unbeaten heading into the playoffs and then they were upset in their first game by a surprising Team Guiness. In the spring season, Yo Mamma returned as Yo Mamma's Nightmare and focused everything on the impending playoff run.

Using the regular season as a tune-up for the playoffs, YMN finished 4th in a seven team league. At 5-3, they were not the favorite to go to the finals.

In the opening round, they had to face a tough fifth seed, The Consortium. The Consortium had finished only 1/2 game behind YMN in the regular season, but in the opening playoff game, Yo Mamma dominated. They sent The Consortium home with a 33-13 spanking.

The semi-finals featured a matchup with the division champions, Abby Insurance. This game was another dominant performance by YMN. They jumped out to a 19-0 halftime lead and never looked back. They dispatched Abby 26-7 and had secured a berth in the championship game.

The championship game matched them up against second seeded X Factor on a Sunday evening in mid-July. The game day change didn't seem to effect Yo Mamma, who jumped out to an early lead. They scored early but X Factor had come to play as well and X Factor responded with a touchdown of their own to tie the game at 6. Just before halftime, Yo Mamma was able to get in the endzone again and was successful on the conversion. This gave YMN a 13-6 halftime lead.

The second half was a tight affair as well. Down seven points, X Factor punched the ball across the goalline to pull within one point with the conversion attempt to come. They failed on the conversion and trailed Yo Mamma by the slimmest of margins, 13-12.

Yo Mamma responded like a champion and hit on a long pass to get back into the endzone. They added the one point attempt and led 20-12 with time running out.

As time ran down, X Factor was able to move the ball. They got to the Yo Mamma 10 yard line and faced fourth and goal with under a minute to go. The moment of truth had arrived, and the answer rested with Yo Mamma's Nightmare. With their opponent facing the exact same situation that Yo Mamma had faced in the winter league playoffs, YMN was able to prevail and stop X Factor on fourth down. The stop secured the championship for Yo Mamma's Nightmare.
