CSA RULES & REGULATIONS

TEAM FORFEIT POLICY
updated October 1, 2008

The following rules and regulations regarding forfeits and cancelled games are in effect for all CSA leagues.

Any team that fails to field the minimum number of eligible players will be considered to have "forfeited" that game.

Any team that forfeits two or more games during the season will not be allowed to continue playing unless they pay a penalty fee. The league re-entry fee is $100 and is due immediately. CSA reserves the right to refuse re-entry into the league. Consecutive forfeits (whether they are announced in a timely manner or not) result in immediate removal of the team from the remaining schedule
There are no exceptions to this policy, after a second unannounced forfeit, the team is immediately expelled from the league and ineligible to compete in any remaining games (including playoffs) until the penalty fee is paid.

If a team notifies CSA in advance that they will be unable to field a team, we will NOT count that game against them for purposes of expulsion from the league.
Acceptable notice is by 2PM of the day of the game for weeknight leagues and by 5PM of the previous day for weekend leagues.

(Ex. If a team in a Sunday softball league notifies our office at 3PM on Saturday that they can not field a team, that would be considered acceptable notice)

Teams that are sanctioned and/or expelled from league play are considered to have forfeited all remaining games. The same penalties may apply.

Sanctioned teams may be required pay an additional deposit (to be determined by CSA Sports)
