CSA RULES & REGULATIONS SUPPLEMENTARY DISCIPLINE POLICY The following rules and regulations regarding individual player discipline are in effect for all CSA Sports leagues and events. CSA Sports has a comprehensive discipline program for violations of rules and code of conduct. Players can be (1) sanctioned, (2) suspended, (3) expelled Any player that is ejected from a game (including being ejected after a game is completed) is automatically suspended for a minimum of one week. CSA's Executive Director will review the circumstances of the incident and make a determination on the length of the suspension. If the ejection is by rule (for example, responsible for a collision; ineligible to play; failure to submit proper documentation, etc.) the Director may reduce the penalty to a sanction instead of a suspension. If the ejection is for continued unsportsmanlike conduct or occurs after a game has been completed, the Director is prohibited from reducing the automatic one week penalty. A player/team can be sanctioned for "unsportsmanlike" conduct. A sanction is an official warning and any further conduct violations would result in the immediate expulsion of the player/team. Further, any player that has been sanctioned by CSA Sports is not eligible to represent any team as a captain. Re-instatement Policy CSA Sports Executive Director is the only representative that can issue official rulings regarding player discipline. A player that has been suspended must be officially re-instated by order of the Executive Director before they can resume participation. For example, if a player is suspended for all games through May 20, 2009, and has served the suspension, they are not eligible to play on May 21, 2009 until the Executive Director has issued a Notice of Re-instatement. |
